WIDEY COURT PRIMARY SCHOOL

Widey Court Primary School is situated in Widey Lane, Crownhill, Plymouth.  It was built on the estate of Widey Court, from which it took its name, in the ancient parish of Eggbuckland.

The School opened in April 1963 with a class of 40 children transferred from Manadon Vale Primary School.

It was completed in time for the opening in the summer of 1964. The buildings cost 62,000.  The Head Master for the 280 infants and juniors was Mr Brian Stephens but the Deputy Head, Mrs Margaret Smith, took charge of the annexe until 1972.
