SURNAMES - XYZ John Yabsley appeared on the list of "Freemen and House-holders of the Borough of Plymouth, entitled to vote for Members of Parliament" in July 1832. Charles Harry Yardley (1873-1959), a Brummie by birth, became a piano tuner based at 96 Tavistock Road, Plymouth, just three doors from the City Museum and Art Gallery, by 1935. After the Second World War he commenced selling pianos and other musical instruments and also records. Between 1953 and 1955 he moved the business to a brand new shop at 14 Cornwall Street. Frank Russell Yeo (1881-1936), successor, with Mr John Henry Beckly (0000-0000), to Mr John Yeo (1841-1918). Jack Stanbury Yeo (1906-1989), solicitor, was the only son of Mr Alfred Yeo (1864-1950). John Yeo (1841-1918), founder of Messrs John Yeo and Company Limited, drapers.
