WHO WAS WHO IN OLD PLYMOUTH

WILLIAM HAROLD SHILLIBEER (1882-1948)

Mr William Harold Shillibeer became the Water Bailiff for the Plymouth City Council in 1939 upon the retirement of his brother, Mr George Shillibeer (1874-1944).

He retired at the end of February 1947 and was succeeded by Mr E Willcocks.

Mr Shillibeer, of Hellington Cottage, Sheepstor, died at the age of 66 years in the Prince of Wales's Hospital, Plymouth, on May 27th 1948 and was buried at Sheepstor Parish Church on May 31st 1948.
