The Plymouth, Stonehouse and Devonport Penitentiary and Female Home was situated in Constantine Street, Plymouth, in 1890.
Miss Stocken was the resident Matron.
It was founded in 1832. The inmates are employed in washing, laundry work, household work, needlework to earn their keep.
Doctor George Henry Eccles (1841-1918) was their consultant surgeon.
